Green Resilience Facility aims to enable sustainable finance flow to rebuild a greener, technologically advanced, and resilient Ukraine in alignment with the Paris Agreement and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The primary goal of GRF4UA is to reduce CO2 emissions, generating enduring and sustainable returns for investors. We remain committed to investing in green generation and sustainable projects during and after the war.

The GRF4UA team has profound expertise in the Ukrainian energy market, with more than 1 GWt projects (in both own investments and client projects). In a nutshell, we are developing a chain of projects from business ideas up to the ready-to-build stage, working on further financing, de-risking, and construction.

CEO
Nataliya Katser-Buchkovska

Nataliya Katser-Buchkovska brings a robust legal economic background, boasting 17 years of expertise in energy, green investment, and business development. As a Co-founder of the Green Resilience Facility, Nataliya aims to propel impact investments, bridging Ukrainian sustainable projects with global green financial institutions.

Serving as a Member of Parliament in Ukraine from 2014 to 2019, she chaired the Subcommittee on Sustainable Development, Strategy, and Investment. She co-authored pivotal economic and energy laws, shaping markets for natural gas and electricity. She has also managed a group of companies with the capitalization of $500 million, leading corporate finance and governance.

As a graduate of UCL and Harvard Kennedy School, and as an Atlantic Council Millennium Fellow, Nataliya is a distinguished speaker at global events including WEF, CERAWeek, BloomberNEF, and Global Energy Summit, and a published author in Financial Times and Atlantic Council. Her insights are quoted by BBC and Bloomberg.

Jurii Podoliak

Jurii Podoliak is the Founder and Director of IKNET, a prominent engineering company known for its innovative approaches in the energy sector. Under his leadership, IKNET has successfully implemented over 540 traditional and alternative energy projects, excelling the maintenance of metering systems, forecasting power generation from solar and wind power plants and optimizing electricity costs for enterprises.

Alicia Eastman

Alicia Eastman is a President & Co-founder of InterContinental Energy, who boasts 25 years of experience in international debt/equity investment, project finance, capital management, corporate and market strategy, business development, as well as operations in infrastructure, renewable energy, biotech, specialty chemicals, and technology. Her projects are focused on the EMEA region, North and South Asia, India, and Australia. The company's approximate development portfolio accounts 110GW of electrolysis cross Western Australia and the GCC.

Before co-founding InterContinental Energy in 2014, Alicia was a founding partner of Asia Pacific Capital Fund II and the Mongolia Opportunities Fund. She has previously headed International Strategy and Acquisitions at Elan Pharmaceuticals, and served as a Vice President of Prudential Asia Infrastructure Mezzanine Capital Fund. Alicia was also a Founding Principal at NetFuel Ventures (acquired by the University of Chicago), and has held international strategy and investment positions at Gemini Consulting, Lend Lease, and AirTouch International (Vodafone).

Alicia is a distinguished speaker at green hydrogen, sustainability, shipping, and ammonia conferences and webinars, as well as a frequent contributor to industry outlets including Financial Times, Bloomberg, UNIDO, UN, COP, WTO, Reuters, Sustainable Energy Council, Climate Council, DeCarb Connect, the Economist, WEF, Argus, IRENA, Maersk Mc-Kinney Center for Zero Carbon Shipping, Getting to Zero Coalition, Global Maritime Forum, S&P Global Platts, and World Hydrogen Congress.

Alicia holds a B.Sc. degree in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and an M.A. degree in International Relations from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.

Susumu Tsubaki

Susumu Tsubaki has established AAIC Investment, a fund management arm of AAIC. He has served as the Director/CEO since its establishment. In 2017, AAIC launched its first Africa Healthcare Fund (AHF1), which raised $47 million. In 2022, AAIC introduced its second fund, the AHF2 with the aim to raise $200 million.

Peter Francis Gray

Peter Francis Gray has built an extensive career in finance, serving as the Chairman of Berkeley Capital Ltd since 2007. Before joining the family office, Peter has served as a CEO of Touche Remnant & Co (now Henderson Investors), where he led a significant re-focusing of the fund management group from 1983 to 1987. His earlier roles include Head of Investment Division at Crown Agents for Oversea Governments and Administrations, as well as Fund Manager at Samuel Montagu & Co (now HSBC).

Having also held board positions in over 20 financial institutions, Peter has been an integral part of investment trust companies and insurance vehicles across global markets, significantly contributing to their growth and development. He now shares his expertise through his involvement with the International Business & Diplomatic Exchange (IBDE), the Official Monetary and Financial Institutions Forum (OMFIF) and a variety of other prestigious institutions.

Educated at Trinity College, Cambridge, where he earned an M.A. Honors in History, Peter is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and the School of Oriental and African Studies, London University. His career reflects a profound commitment to excellence in the financial sector, particularly in investment management and strategic financial advisory.

The “Bioenergy Association of Ukraine” (UABio) civic union was established in 2013 as a nonprofit that unites 42 leading companies, 11 individuals and 18 bioenergy experts around sustainable biomethane development in Ukraine.
